>Summer Reading Program News

>The Lanesboro Public Library has just completed another successful summer reading program.

Eighty six readers signed up to Get a Clue @ the Library and twenty six of those readers collected prizes for completing pages in their reading logs throughout the summer. Eight of these readers completed their entire reading log and more! These top readers included Libby Thiss and Elsa Hennessy-Barnes. Other excellent readers were Anthony Brazee, Gabriella Brazee, Alyssa Gathje, Alex Knutson, Claire Pieper, and Evan Thiss.

A record 127 people attended the kick-off with “Lucy and Friends.” Other fun activities included “Stories and Songs” with Lynn Bunge and two Pajama Storytimes with volunteer readers Andrew Gudmundson, Caitlyn Ruen, and Bonita Underbakke. Throughout the summer readers also participated in the Reading Raffle and weekly contests. Winners of these drawings were: Jocasta Adelsman, Anthony Brazee, Gabriella Brazee, Michaela Brazee, Jared Dyreson, Alyssa Gathje, Joe Gathje, Elsa Hennessy-Barnes, Brooke Kimball, Sophie Pieper, Libby Thiss, and Jared Troendle.

The program ended with final prize drawings made even more exciting by a copy of the just-released Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows going to one lucky winner – Linnea Thiss. Gift certificates to Barnes and Noble were awarded to the other final prize winners: Michaela Brazee, Jenna Dyreson, Rachel Eversole, Lea Jenssen, Weston Ohl, Tate Pieper, Josie Semmen, Evan Thiss, and Marcus Walbridge.

Special thanks to the Friends of the Library for funding the kick-off event and the book prizes given away during the program. Thanks also to program coordinator Laura Gudmundson, library staff and volunteers, parents, and community patrons for their support!
