>Have you heard? This is the summer to Catch the Beat at Your Library! The Lanesboro Public Library will be hoppin’ and boppin’ all summer long starting on June 6th. This music-themed reading program encourages children to read during summer months. Research studies have shown that students who do not practice reading skills during the summer actually lose the abilities they worked so hard to acquire during the school year. Students who read over the summer are better prepared for school success in the fall.

Everyone is welcome to attend the free kick-off event at the Lanesboro Community Center on Tuesday, June 6th at 6pm. Participants can sign up for summer reading fun and enjoy the music and dances of Bob Bovee and Gail Heil, whose performance is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Participants will also receive incentives for reaching reading goals. Catch the Beat at Your Library will have kids kicking up their heels about great books, fun activities and a line-up of special events.

The Lanesboro Public Library invites all Lanesboro students and their families to Catch the Beat at their library this summer.
